Inspired from the myth of Medea, Psychopomp investigating the idea of death, exploring the concept of limbo which occurs before one moves on to the afterlife.

Eva is a young socialite recently married to Medea's divorcee, Jason. While enroute to meet Jason for dinner, she is ambushed and murdered by the jealous Medea. Eva awakens in Limbo where she meets Charon, the psychopomp whose one job is to ferry her to the afterlife. But Eva is not yet ready to move on. Before she steps onto the boat, she must come to terms with her past and confront the woman who took her life and everything she must leave behind.

Making Light

IGNITE! Youth Festival 2012

Kaylin's first opportunity as a director was provided by the Cultch's IGNITE! Youth Festival. She directed a new play written by Josie Mitchell named "Making Light". As well, she mentored under the Only Animal's Kendra Fanconi.

Featured performances by: Khadija Naciri and Ahmed Khattab

We incorporated music and theatre together to create a piece that was an audience favourite. We had an amazing time working with other up-and-coming theatre companies.

An adaptation of the Giglamesh myth (one of the oldest epic stories). A story about finding, and losing, true love.

Featured performances by: Elysse Cheadle and Chu-Lynne Ng

Music composed by: Eric Wettstein and Kaylin Metchie

PSYCHOPOMP

Vancouver Fringe Festival 2012

Psyche Theatre  once again a part of HIVE: New Bees where Psyche was placed upstairs. Our piece "Connect Four" was an experiement in how strangers could/would connect with each other if put under the right circumstances.

CONNECT FOUR

HIVE: New Bees 3
Psyche Theatre's first go at complete self-production. Thank goodness we had help from our good friend Elysse Cheadle. On August 17-19 at the Russian Hall in Vancouver's Strathcona neighbourhood, we produced Kaylin's play "Two Birds on a Wire" in a night that included Elysse's theatre-dance piece "Hoof" and music from Elliot Vaughan and Eric Wettstein. Directed by the wonderful Christina Andreola, it was an experience like none other.
